Blackburn Rovers' on-loan striker Mame Biram Diouf has stated he wants to score a hatful of goals this season and help propel the side into the Premier League top ten.
The Senegalese forward is on a season-long loan from Manchester United, who spotted his talent while he was playing in Norway. He has only made five appearances for United and was allowed to move to Ewood Park to get regular first-team football.
After coming off the bench in Blackburn's first two Premier League games, the striker was unleashed against Norwich City in the Carling Cup and he impressed with a hat-trick of strikes.
Diouf has told the Lancashire Telegraph that he should have added to this three-goal haul and he now hopes to appear in Blackburn's next game against Premier League title-chasing Arsenal. The football betting indicates it will be a tough match, but they will be up for it.
He said this is a "big game" for his side as they look to build on a decent start to the season, which has seen them win one and draw on before the Carling Cup win.
"As long as I get the chances I hope to score them. As a striker it is always good to score some goals and help the team," Diouf said.
"As long as you can help the team it is always good. I have got very good lads around me."
Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is also considering more attacking options as he looks to build a side capable of hijacking the Premier League top ten. The Carling cup betting odds also suggest they have a chance of reaching the latter stages of that tournament.
He has admitted a liking for former Manchester City striker Benjani, after the Zimbabwe international has been on trial at Ewood Park as he looks to prove his fitness. |
