Cristiano Ronaldo insists he will be happy to stay with Real Madrid for the next ten years of his career.
The Portuguese winger joined the Spanish club for a world record fee of L80 million from Manchester United in 2009, but became a free bet favourite to join Manchester City, who are said to be willing to break the L100 million mark to secure the services of the 26-year-old.
However Ronaldo has told a Spanish radio station that he is not bothered about the money and that he is perfectly content in the Spanish capital.
"I can't see myself leaving Madrid.” He told Cadena Cope.
"If (Madrid president) Florentino Perez told me to sign on for 10 years today, I would do it - although I don't know what will happen tomorrow."
"If I was after just money I could have doubled what I have in my account," added Ronaldo. "I'm very happy here, it has been phenomenal."
The former Sporting Lisbon player enjoyed his most prolific season to date in 2011, breaking Madrid’s goal scoring record by finding the net 53 times in all competitions, while also helping Jose Mourinho’s side to the Copa del Rey final, which they won over Barcelona.
However it was their Catalan rivals who had the last laugh, winning the Champions League final against Manchester United having entered the competition as clear favourites with those who place free bets (http://www.bigfreebet.com) , and easing to the league title at the expense of Madrid.
Having ruled out leaving Madrid for the foreseeable future, Ronaldo did leave the door open for a move to Barcelona later in his career.
Could I think differently tomorrow? Yes. No-one knows the future of a player," he commented. "Never play for Barcelona? Never is a strong word."
