Wolves 'Can Beat The Drop'

One Wolverhampton Wanderers legend has said he is convinced the club's current crop of players is good enough to avoid Premier League relegation this season.

Wolves are currently in 15th place in the Premier League but are only one point above the relegation places and face a difficult run of games which including facing title-chasing Chelsea and Manchester United in the next few weeks.

Bull highlighted Kevin Doyle, Karl Henry and David Jones for praise but admitted he would be happy if Wolves finished 17th this season and avoided the drop, something the football betting suggests they're capable of doing.

"I think Wolves can beat the drop because I think the bottom half of the Premier League is very poor," the former striker said.

"There's quite a lot of teams down there like Hull, Burnley, Wigan, Portsmouth, West Ham and Bolton which we're well capable of beating so if we can finish above that group then I'll be very happy."

The optimism showed by Bull mirrors that voiced by McCarthy when he said his players were more than capable of avoiding Premier League relegation this season.

He added around 40 points should be enough to stay out of the bottom three and he is confident Wolves can get the 16 points needed to meet that figure between now and the end of the season.

The Premier League football odds might have made Wolves among the favourites to go down at the start of the season, but they have shown a great deal of fight so survival is not impossible.
